California Chorus Frog
Pseudacris cadaverina
Adult California chorus frogs inhabit chaparral, grassland, woodland edges, and seasonal wetlands in southern California and Baja California. They forage mostly at night, taking insects, spiders, and other small arthropods with a quick snap of the mouth. Males give a distinctive raspy chorus call during the breeding season, often from vegetation near water.
