Assassin Bug
Rhynocoris iracundus
The adult Mediterranean red bug inhabits sunny, dry grasslands, scrub, and field edges around the Mediterranean. It is an ambush predator, using its powerful forelegs and piercing beak to capture flies, beetles, and other insects. Its red-and-black coloration is conspicuous, while its wings allow it to move between hunting perches.
