Green Drake Mayfly
Ephemera danica

Adult green drake mayflies emerge around clean, slow-moving rivers and lakes, often in large seasonal hatches. They fly to find mates, and females deposit their eggs on the water before dying shortly afterward. Adults have vestigial mouthparts and generally do not feed; their brief airborne life is devoted almost entirely to reproduction.
