Black Grouse
Lyrurus tetrix
Adult Black Grouse inhabit moorland, heath, bog edges, and open woodland across northern Europe and Asia. They feed largely on buds, shoots, berries, seeds, and leaves, with insects forming a smaller part of the diet. In spring, males gather at traditional lek sites, where they puff their plumage, call, and spar to attract females.
