Olive Ridley Turtle
Lepidochelys olivacea

Adult olive ridley turtles inhabit tropical and warm-temperate oceans, spending most of their lives in coastal and offshore waters. They feed mainly on crabs, shrimp, jellyfish, molluscs, and other small marine animals, crushing or tearing food with strong beaks. Although capable swimmers, females come ashore to dig nests in sandy beaches. The species is famous for synchronized mass nesting events called arribadas, during which thousands of females may nest together.
