White Wagtail
Motacilla alba

A slim black, white, and grey passerine often seen walking and running across lawns, shorelines, roadsides, riverbanks, and rooftops. It hunts insects and other small invertebrates by quick ground pursuit, short aerial sallies, and agile turns close to the surface. Adults defend feeding and nesting areas with calls, chases, and direct flight displays. A notable trait is the constant wagging of the long tail, a behaviour so distinctive that it gives wagtails their name.
