Tropical Kingbird
Tyrannus melancholicus

The Tropical Kingbird inhabits open woodland, forest edges, savannas, farmland, and towns across much of Central and South America. It usually hunts from an exposed perch, making quick flights to snatch flying insects; it also eats berries and small fruits. Adults are bold defenders of nesting areas and may repeatedly swoop at much larger birds. Its bright yellow underparts and darker gray head make it conspicuous in open country.
