European Bison Calf
Bos bonasus (calf)

European bison calves are born in woodland clearings and open forest habitats across parts of Europe. They stay close to their mother, resting in cover and following her as the herd moves between feeding areas. At first they nurse on milk, then gradually begin grazing grasses, sedges, and browse. Their reddish-brown coat helps distinguish them from the darker adults.
