Springbok
Antidorcas marsupialis

Adult springbok live in the arid grasslands, scrub, and open plains of southern Africa, grazing on grasses and browsing leaves, shoots, and flowers. They are fast, highly alert antelopes that rely on sudden sprints, sharp turns, and high bounding leaps to escape predators. Both sexes carry ringed, lyre-shaped horns, which are used in jabbing, pushing, and head-to-head contests. One notable fact is their famous stiff-legged leaping display, often called pronking or stotting, which can signal fitness and alarm.
