Common Prawn
Palaemon serratus

Common prawns inhabit shallow coastal waters, rocky shores, and seagrass beds, often sheltering in crevices by day. They forage for small crustaceans, worms, molluscs, carrion, and organic debris, using their claws to handle food. When startled, they can snap their muscular abdomen to shoot backward in a rapid escape.
