Mother of Pearl
Pleuroptya ruralis

This small moth frequents gardens, hedgerows, woodland margins, and other damp places with lush low vegetation. It flies mainly at night and rests quietly among leaves by day, while adults take nectar from flowers when available. Its pale, pearly wings give the species its distinctive common name and can gleam under artificial light.
