Eurasian Eagle-Owl
Bubo bubo

The Eurasian eagle-owl occupies rocky cliffs, woodland edges, ravines, and open country across much of Europe and Asia. It is a largely nocturnal ambush predator, hunting mammals, birds, reptiles, and occasionally fish with powerful talons and a crushing grip. Adults often roost quietly by day and use their mottled plumage to blend into rock or tree cover. Its deep, resonant hoot can carry over long distances, especially during territorial and breeding displays.
