Kori Bustard
Ardeotis kori
The Kori Bustard is a massive ground-dwelling bird of open savannas, grasslands, and semi-arid scrub across eastern and southern Africa. It walks steadily through its habitat while feeding on insects, small vertebrates, seeds, and other plant material. Although capable of flight, it usually relies on its long legs and camouflage-colored plumage to avoid danger. It is among the heaviest birds able to fly, with males greatly outweighing females.
