Magpie Goose
Anseranas semipalmata

Adult Magpie Geese inhabit tropical floodplains, swamps, lagoons, and grassy wetlands of northern Australia and southern New Guinea. They graze on sedges, water plants, and seeds, while also taking insects and other small invertebrates. Strong fliers and capable swimmers, they often roost in trees and may nest in loose colonies; unlike most waterfowl, they have only partially webbed feet.
