Satin Bowerbird
Ptilonorhynchus violaceus
Adult satin bowerbirds inhabit eastern Australian rainforests, wet forests, and nearby woodland edges. They eat fruit, insects, nectar, and other small invertebrates, foraging both in trees and on the ground. Males are glossy blue-black, while females are greenish and heavily patterned; males famously build and decorate bowers with blue objects to court females.
