Leafcutter Ant
Acromyrmex coronatus

Adult leafcutter ants inhabit tropical woodland and forest habitats, nesting in extensive underground chambers. A foraging worker cuts pieces of vegetation with strong mandibles and carries them back to cultivate fungus for food. Rather than eating most of the leaves directly, it depends on its carefully maintained fungal garden.
