Black Carrion Beetle
Silpha tristis

Adult black carrion beetles patrol woodland floors, hedgerows, and other places where small animal remains can be found. They feed on carrion and may also consume insect larvae gathered around a carcass. The adults can fly to new food sources, using their clubbed antennae to detect decay-related odors.
