Dungeness Crab
Metacarcinus magister

Adult Dungeness crabs occupy sandy and muddy seafloors along the Pacific coast, from shallow bays to deeper coastal waters. They are active scavengers and predators, using strong claws to eat clams, fish, worms, and smaller crustaceans. Adults periodically bury into sediment for cover and can grow a broad, hard carapace more than 20 centimetres across.
