Grass Anole
Anolis auratus
Grass anoles live in sunlit grasslands, scrub, gardens, and the edges of tropical woodland. They perch on stems and low branches, watching for insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates. Adults rely on camouflage and sudden rapid lunges rather than long chases. Males display a bright throat fan to signal rivals and attract mates.
