Familiar Bluet Nymph
Enallagma civile (nymph)
This aquatic nymph lives among submerged plants and debris in ponds, marshes, lakes, and slow-moving streams. It stalks small aquatic insects, crustaceans, and other tiny invertebrates, shooting out its hinged lower jaw to seize prey. Before becoming a flying damselfly, it climbs from the water and sheds its skin in a final molt.
