Common Godzilla Ant
Camponotus compressus

Common Godzilla Ants inhabit warm open ground, gardens, and areas around human settlements, nesting in soil, cracks, or decaying wood. Workers forage for dead insects, sugary honeydew, nectar, and other scavenged foods. Their large mandibles can seize prey, carry heavy objects, and defend the nest entrance. When threatened, they can release formic acid as a chemical deterrent.
