Ruby-tailed wasp
Chrysis ignita

Adult ruby-tailed wasps visit sunny, open habitats such as heathland, woodland edges, and gardens. They feed on flower nectar, while females search for the nests of other solitary bees and wasps in which to lay eggs. Their brilliantly metallic exoskeleton is exceptionally tough, and they can curl into a defensive ball when attacked.
