Common Bulbul
Pycnonotus barbatus

Common Bulbuls inhabit open woodland, scrub, gardens, farms, and towns throughout much of sub-Saharan Africa. They forage actively through foliage and on the ground for fruit, berries, insects, nectar, and small invertebrates. Adults are agile fliers that move between shrubs and trees while defending feeding areas with calls and chases. A distinctive pale vent beneath the tail is a useful field mark for this widespread songbird.
