Arctic Fox
Vulpes lagopus

Adult arctic foxes live across Arctic tundra, coastal areas, and sea-ice margins, using keen hearing and camouflage to locate prey. They hunt lemmings, voles, birds, eggs, and fish, and they also scavenge from larger predators when food is scarce. Their thick fur changes from white in winter to brown or gray in summer, making them one of the best-camouflaged mammals of the far north. Large multi-entrance dens may be reused for many generations.
