Parson's Chameleon
Calumma parsonii
Adult Parson's chameleons inhabit humid rainforest trees and thick woodland vegetation in eastern Madagascar. They are patient ambush hunters that feed chiefly on insects, using a long sticky tongue to seize prey from a distance. One of the world's largest chameleons, a male can become remarkably heavy-bodied and may display vivid colors during territorial encounters.
