Redheaded Ash Borer
Neoclytus acuminatus
The adult redheaded ash borer is a slender longhorn beetle found around weakened hardwoods, freshly cut logs, and woodpiles. Adults visit flowers for nectar and pollen, while females lay eggs in cracks of suitable host wood. Its reddish head and thorax contrast with dark wing covers marked by pale bands.
