Spike-topped applesnail
Pomacea diffusa

Adults occupy ponds, marshes, canals, and other warm, still freshwater habitats with abundant vegetation. They graze broadly on plant material, algae, and detritus, travelling across mud and submerged stems. Females deposit conspicuous clutches of eggs above the waterline, keeping them away from many aquatic predators.
