Netted Dog Whelk
Tritia reticulata

Adults inhabit intertidal sand, mud, and shallow coastal seabeds, often burying themselves between feeding bouts. They are scavengers and opportunistic predators, using an extendable proboscis and rasping radula to feed on dead animals and small invertebrates. The characteristic reticulated shell pattern provides the species with its common name.
