Potter's Grass Spider
Agelenopsis potteri

Adults inhabit grassy fields, roadsides, and other low, open vegetation where they can anchor sheet-like funnel webs. They wait at the narrow retreat and rush out to bite insects that vibrate the silk. Unlike orb-weavers, grass spiders do not use sticky capture spirals; prey is caught through speed and the web's vibration signals.
