Hong Kong Newt Larva
Paramesotriton hongkongensis (larva)
This larval newt lives in cool, shaded mountain streams and quiet pools beside them. It hunts tiny aquatic insects, crustaceans, and other small invertebrates among leaf litter and stones. Feathery external gills allow it to breathe underwater while it remains in its early aquatic stage.
