Red Muntjac
Muntiacus muntjak

Red muntjacs inhabit tropical and subtropical forests, thickets, plantations, and brushy clearings across South and Southeast Asia. Usually solitary and wary, they browse leaves, shoots, fruits, seeds, and bark, often feeding near dense cover. Males have short antlers and long upper canine teeth, while both sexes give a sharp barking alarm call that earned them the name barking deer.
