Snoring Rail
Aramidopsis plateni
The Snoring Rail inhabits dense lowland forest and wet, tangled vegetation on Sulawesi. This secretive, mostly flightless bird walks through leaf litter while feeding on insects, worms, and other small prey. It is seldom seen, but its distinctive low snoring calls can reveal its presence in the undergrowth.
