Black Magpie
Platysmurus leucopterus

The adult black magpie inhabits mature lowland and hill forests on Borneo, often keeping to the canopy and middle layers. It forages for fruit, insects, and small animals, probing bark and foliage with its stout bill. A strong, direct flight lets it cross gaps between trees and defend itself with pecks or wing strikes. Its glossy black plumage is set off by conspicuous white patches on the wings and tail.
