Indian Pied Myna
Gracupica contra
Indian pied mynas inhabit open country, cultivated fields, parks, towns, and wetland edges across South Asia. They walk and hop on the ground to take insects, grains, fruits, and food scraps, while using trees and buildings for nesting cavities. Adults are active, adaptable birds with varied whistles and harsh calls. Their bold black-and-white plumage is marked by conspicuous orange-yellow bare skin around the eyes.
