Pink Cockatoo
Cacatua leadbeateri
Pink Cockatoos inhabit arid and semi-arid woodlands, especially areas with large old trees suitable for nesting hollows. They forage on the ground and in trees for seeds, grains, bulbs, fruits, and insect larvae. Adults use strong bills to handle hard food and fly swiftly between feeding and roosting sites. Their broad red-and-yellow crest is raised during displays and moments of alarm.
