Pink-headed Fruit Dove
Ptilinopus porphyreus
This colorful dove inhabits humid montane forests on the Indonesian islands of Java, Bali, Lombok, and Sumatra. It moves through the canopy in search of figs, berries, and other small fruits, swallowing them whole. By carrying seeds away from fruiting trees, it helps regenerate forest vegetation.
