Squash Bug
Acanthocephala terminalis

Adult squash bugs inhabit gardens, farms, and wild patches where squash, pumpkins, and related plants grow. They feed by inserting their piercing mouthparts into leaves, stems, and fruit, sometimes causing foliage to wilt. Adults fly between host plants and overwinter in sheltered cracks, litter, or buildings. Their flattened, leaf-footed hind legs and defensive odor are notable features.
