Common Five-ring Caterpillar
Ypthima baldus (larva)
This caterpillar lives among grasses in open fields, grassy clearings, and disturbed ground. It feeds chiefly on grass blades, chewing steadily while remaining low in the vegetation. Its green, striped body helps it blend with its food plant, and it often stays still when disturbed.
