Spanish Slug
Arion vulgaris

Adult Spanish slugs are common in gardens, farmland, parks, and other moist disturbed habitats across much of Europe. They are nocturnal or rain-active omnivores, feeding on seedlings, vegetables, fungi, carrion, and decaying plant material. When disturbed, they rely on thick, sticky, bitter-tasting mucus rather than speed, making them difficult for many predators to handle. This species is notable for being a highly successful invasive slug in many regions.
