Zebra Danio
Danio rerio
Adult zebra danios occupy clear to moderately silty freshwater streams, canals, ponds, and flooded fields in South Asia. They are alert, fast-swimming fish that feed on small invertebrates, zooplankton, and bits of plant material near the surface. Adults are recognized by their bold blue-and-gold horizontal striping and are capable of rapid bursts of speed.
