Corsican Stick-insect
Bacillus rossius

The adult Corsican stick-insect inhabits warm Mediterranean scrub, woodland edges, and gardens where suitable leafy plants grow. It is mainly nocturnal, feeding on leaves while relying on its long, twig-like body to remain unnoticed through the day. Adults may reproduce without mating in some populations, with females capable of producing viable eggs by parthenogenesis.
