Northern White-cheeked Gibbon
Nomascus leucogenys
Adults occupy tall tropical and subtropical forest canopies in Vietnam, Laos, and southern China. They travel by powerful arm-swinging and feed chiefly on ripe fruit, supplemented with leaves, flowers, and insects. Northern white-cheeked gibbons are renowned for carrying vocal calls across the forest to advertise their territory.
