Crested Serpent Eagle
Spilornis cheela

The adult crested serpent eagle occupies tropical and subtropical forests, woodland, and forest clearings across South and Southeast Asia. It watches from exposed perches before flying down to seize snakes, lizards, amphibians, and small mammals with powerful talons. Its broad wings allow it to circle over canopy openings and maneuver through wooded habitat. The prominent crest can be raised during displays and alert postures.
