Common Bleak
Alburnus alburnus

Adult common bleak inhabit clear rivers, streams, lakes, and reservoirs, usually swimming near the surface or in mid-water. They feed on drifting insects, small crustaceans, and plankton, readily taking insects from the water's surface. Their bright, silvery scales were historically used to make pearl essence for artificial pearls.
