Blue Crayfish
Procambarus alleni

Blue crayfish inhabit warm freshwater wetlands, canals, ponds, and vegetated streams in Florida. They are mostly active at night, searching the bottom for plants, carrion, insects, snails, and small aquatic animals. Their enlarged claws defend territory and seize food, while their striking blue coloration is a natural color form of the species.
