Common Raven Hatchling
Corvus corax (hatchling)

A newly hatched common raven is blind or nearly blind, sparsely downy, and completely dependent on warmth and food from its parents. It stays deep in a bulky stick nest on cliffs, tall trees, or human structures in wild open country and forests. Its diet is regurgitated animal matter, insects, carrion, eggs, and other soft foods brought by adults. Even at this fragile stage, loud begging calls are vital for getting attention in the nest.
