Red-Tailed Black Shark
Epalzeorhynchos bicolor

Adults live in freshwater rivers and streams, especially around the rocky bottoms and submerged cover of their native Thai range. They graze algae and attached organic material, supplementing this diet with small invertebrates. Individuals can be strongly territorial toward similarly shaped fish and use rapid chases to drive intruders away. The species is recognized by its velvety black body and vivid red tail fin.
