Spotted Babylon Snail
Babylonia areolata

The adult spotted Babylon snail inhabits sandy coastal bottoms in warm Indo-Pacific waters. It spends much of the day buried in sand and emerges to search for carrion and vulnerable bottom-dwelling prey. Its strong foot and patterned shell provide protection while it moves across the seabed. The species is also widely harvested and raised as a food snail in parts of Asia.
