Spiral Babylon Snail
Babylonia spirata

The adult Spiral Babylon Snail inhabits sandy coastal seabeds, where it often buries itself with only part of its shell exposed. It is a carnivorous scavenger and predator, using its extendable proboscis and radula to feed on carrion and small mollusks. Its glossy, tightly spiralled shell is prized by collectors and helps shield it from many attackers.
