West Indian starsnail
Lithopoma tectum

Adult West Indian starsnails inhabit warm, shallow reef and rocky coastal habitats in the western Atlantic and Caribbean. They graze algae from hard surfaces with a rasping radula, usually moving slowly during calmer periods. Their thick, turban-shaped shell and tightly closing operculum provide important protection from predators and drying exposure.
